Regular hillclimbers had a good day at the first day of the Carlow Car club sprint weekend. the first day was held at Kilrush Airfield between Kilcullen and Athy in co. Kildare. The weather started good but started to threaten rain as the day went on. Competing from the club were Paul O’Connell, Denis Hogan Jr, Trish Daly, Gerard O’Connor and Senan O’Connor.

Paul was second for the first two runs but was knocked down to third on the final run. Gerard O’Connor had an enjoyable day to finish 5th in his class 0.27s behind 4th, more results when available.

The second day started with a dry paddock, a lot of people reported that they had rain on their journey to Bagenalstown. By the time of the first practice run the rain had arrived.  One of the biggest challenges was getting off the start line, some people resorting to second gear!

It was a repeat of day one for Paul O’Connell being knocked down to third again on the last run. Senid Hogan had a good day finishing 8th overall and second in class 3B. Trish Daly was 3rd and Senan O’Connor 6th in class 1. Gerard O’Connor finished third in class 5.
