Limerick Motor club has been organising hillclimbs since the 1940s. The Corkscrew hill in Co. Clare was a popular venue for many years. The club stopped organising hillcimbs in the 1970s. Denis Hogan Sr was instrumental in restarting hills at the club in 2000.
