Mixed day for Paul and Denis

Denis Hogan from Adare and Paul O’Connell from Crecora had mixed days at the Laois Raly Sports Club sprint held at Mondello Park on 30 September 2012. The event started in very difficult conditions as a band of rain swept across the country. The practice runs had numerous spinners. The first timed run was also wet,  Denis set a time of 4minutes 46.31seconds and Paul had 4:17.05. Weather conditions improved during the lunch break leading to a rapid drop in times. after Run2  Denis was leading class 3B with 4:07.17 this was a slender lead as his competition had set a time of 4:07.96. In the third and final run Denis only improved by 0.05s but his competition improved to 4:04.98 knocking Denis to second in class 3B.

Paul’s second run time of 3:28.34 had him 4th overall but a battery problem on run 3 resulted in a DNF this allowed another competitor to knock Paul back to fifth overall. Paul did receive the award for first in class 7.
