A Capacity Audience for AGM
There was a large attendance for the Limerick Motor Club AGM held at the Woodlands House Hotel, Adare on Wednesday 5 February 2014.
The chairman and treasurer read their reports and there followed a discussion on the contents.
The meeting next proceeded to the election of directors. Ed O’Callaghan and Aiden Walsh were reelected and were joined by new directors Eamonn Barrett and Henry Nash.
The new board of directors had their first meeting in an adjoining room, when they returned they announced the officers for coming year. They were Aidan Walsh chairman, Bill Fitzgerald secretary and Mary Fitzgerald treasurer.
Aidan Walsh spoke on the importance of growing the number of events that the club was running, putting an emphasis on Autocross. He asked members if they could find a suitable field or quarry for this popular low cost form of motor sport.
The next announcement was that of a new club president. Maria O’Callaghan received her chain of office from retiring club president Dan Mulcahy.
