Heartbreak at Heartlands
Mayo Autocross
Ed O’Callaghan finished third Overall at Heartlands Rally. Ed finished with the same time as second place but lost out on the last stage tie break. He held the lead by two seconds after the fifth stage but a slow time on the sixth and final stage dropped him back.
Not a good day for Sean Liston and Katrina Walsh Liston and their BMW E40 . Katrina said “Jesus when are we going to get a clean run again??? We’re gone on the 2nd stage from 13th overall. Misfire was there again on the 1st stage and then it went away, then it came back on the 2nd stage and Sean lost concentration and didn’t hear the note at all. Straight in past a bale and stuck in a ditch. So bloody sickened. She’s not badly damaged though, could have been worse.
We’ve changed everything for that misfire, just don’t know. We’re both so sorry to all our sponsors, so sorry. We’ll do ye proud again some day!”

Also on the same day was an Autocross run by Mayo club. The Junior and Senior Mike O’Connors were there and had a good day
